MA Home Improvement Contactor Compliance

J Morse Construction operates in accordance with applicable Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor laws, including Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 142A where applicable.

Customers are encouraged to:

  • verify licensing and registration information,

  • and understand their rights under Massachusetts consumer protection laws.

 

Where required by Massachusetts law, contracts will include:

  • contractor registration information,

  • payment terms,

  • cancellation rights,

  • scope of work,

  • estimated timelines,

  • and applicable warranty information.

Deposits & Payments

Deposit amounts and payment schedules shall comply with Massachusetts law where applicable.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • deposits are used to secure scheduling, materials, labor allocation, permits, and project preparation,

  • progress payments may be required based on project milestones,

  • final payment is due upon substantial completion of contracted work.

 

Failure to make timely payments may result in:

  • or legal collection remedies permitted under Massachusetts law.

Permits, Inspections & Code Compliance

Where required, permits shall be obtained in accordance with local and state regulations unless otherwise specified in writing.

Project pricing and scope may be adjusted if:

  • existing construction is found not to meet current building code,

  • hidden damage is discovered,

  • additional structural repairs become necessary,

  • or inspectors require modifications for compliance.

 

J Morse Construction is not responsible for:

  • pre-existing code violations,

  • concealed conditions,

  • or deficiencies not visible during the estimating process.

Project Delays

Estimated project timelines are approximate and may be affected by:

  • weather,

  • permit approvals,

  • subcontractor scheduling,

  • or unforeseen site conditions.

 

J Morse Construction shall not be held liable for delays outside of its reasonable control.

Change Orders
